Delta Compel Touch20 bathroom faucet review - model 561T-DST

Delta surprised me with the Compel Single Lever Handle Bathroom Faucet with Touch2O Technology (model 561t-DST). From the fairly simple installation (see the video for full details) and ease of use it made an instant impact.
****See the video for unboxing, how it works, install considerations/needs, and even more*****
The packaging for the Delta Compel Faucet with Touch20 contains all of the required parts, even with the guide and their online help missing to mention a small part you must use that is in the box. I cover that plate in the video. They bag everything to match the book so when you are on step #2 you need bag of parts #2. There is also only 7 steps total so do not think this is a huge task to get working. Even a wrench for the mounting screw is included. You really only need a wrench for the faucet connections and a screwdriver if you want to mount the battery box (batteries included in the box!)
I have a newer home that had contractor hooks for the plumbing which added a step for me. But the connectors from Delta are standard and will work well for most homes right away or after easily removing the contractor grade ones. My bathroom sink was a 3 hole sink so I had to use the escutcheon that is included. Remember that the rubber gadget is below the box and without it the escutcheon will not fit right at all. See the video for how it should look.
Once I got the Delta Compel Faucet with Touch20 installed, the battery box for the touch technology connected and the control module connected it worked right away. I went step by step from the book and it saved me a bunch of time and made things connect easily in order. Except that darn missing mention of the plate between the LED light an the top of the faucet. I worked that out myself even after checking the Delta website videos for this type faucet.
The touch sensitivity seems to be way beyond 4 inches for me, which contradicts other reviewers. It also seemed to turn on randomly with no one around but I think I fixed that by adjusting the connectors below to be tighter. The family enjoys being able to walk up and just put their hands out there. If you remember, you can touch it the Delta Compel Faucet with Touch20 to turn it on for 60 seconds or a quick touch to turn it off after using the motion sensitivity then you can work everything it has to offer.
Other features include:
Operates manually with the handle, with the tap Touch2O functionality or by placing your hands within the 4 in. sensing field around the faucet
- DIAMOND Seal Technology features a valve embedded with diamonds to ensure like-new operation for the life of the faucet
- Includes optional 6 in. escutcheon for 3-hole installations - Includes matching finish plastic pop-up drain assembly
- Meets standards set by Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) - 1 or 3-hole 4 in. installation
- 1.50 gpm at 60 psi, 5.7 L/min at 414 kPa
Humorously, the most embarrassing thing is you start turning the handle off due to habit and then the proximity does nothing since it cannot turn on. It just took a few weeks to get used to not touching the handles itself. The only other thing that contradicts the manual/guide for the Delta Compel Faucet with Touch20 is the plunger slider on the back of the faucet I mention in the video as not matching. Everyone looks for the standard knob but it is a slider on the back of the faucet that screws into the pieces in the bags.
Overall, I am looking at other Touch20 faucets from them for other bathrooms in the house. Thanks Delta for an awesome faucet and see the video for even more detailed information.
