A little new Lotusphere pressure for presenters
Sandra Marcus, program director, IBM Software
Group Events, has been quoted a bunch on the Lotusphere site. This portion
really caught my eye since I am presenting a couple sessions and participating
in two BOF's this year.
As Marcus explains, people can access the Lotusphere
2004 Online System using their own laptops via the internet from their
hotel rooms, or though wireless access in designated areas of the conference.
Attendees will then have the ability to look up lab listings with special
events, promotions, and links to relevant lab resources. They can also
view session agendas by titles, dates, speakers, or tracks. If they have
a PDA, they can then download customized conference agendas to their mobile
devices, eliminating the need to carry around hard copy. Also, once
they’ve attended a session, they can write a review, rate the session
or speaker, and post it on a discussion forum in which everyone can participate.
So by the time I get out of the session and you have eaten two cookies,
a large soda or cup of coffee and booted up, there might likely be a discussion
about the session already. Interesting!! To the presenters,
I wonder if starting our own on how wonderful the session was is a good
idea in advance? LOL
