SteelSeries Stratus Wireless Gaming Controller for iOS review
Tags :SteelSeries Stratus wireless gaming controller
We were impressed with the light weight of the SteelSeries Stratus Wireless Gaming Controller while still providing every button, joystick and direction pad you find in full sized game controller. The added carrying case made us think that this would be great for travel. Even playing game son the plane this would not be in anyone's way. However our enjoyment stopped there.
You definitely need iOS7 and a new germination iPad to get this SteelSeries Stratus Wireless Gaming Controller to work. 3rd generation iPad? Don't buy it. Want to have to pair it over and over again? Don't get it. As shown in the video we had to repair the controller more than once. It just kept losing connection. Note: we use iOS7 and a last generation iPad before the Air. So we met all the specifications.
The power button on the side of the SteelSeries Stratus Wireless Gaming Controller was labeled backwards to us. We presumed on would show red but off was red and on was solid black. That was confusing. Then we had a hard time finding games to work even with the long list they have on the website under the FAQ. When we finally had it working we found some controls sluggish or responding too late. Others worked fine. I do not know if it is the controller, the BlueTooth connection (which is fine on tons of other devices we have) or the games.
Later testing showed that the more Bluetooth items we had around the iPad that it was paired with would show blips in the controls. What we mean is that as other things tried to sync or connect the SteelSeries Stratus Wireless Gaming Controller would have a brief interruption or be sluggish. At least that is what we think.
So overall, see the video for us showing the size, pairing and other impressions! Even if you are not buying, click through and select that"Yes" button that my reviews are helpful on Amazon. It keeps the reviews coming!
