Pelican ProGear Vault Extreme Protection Case iPad Mini review
Tags :iPad mini Pelican ProGear product review
We love reviewing cases for the iPad Mini and were excited to get the Pelican ProGear Vault Extreme Protection Case due to it's known durability. It provides a tough outer shell, all the required ports can be opened or buttons accessed, the back camera has a great protective cover and it screws into the frame holding the iPad Mini secure for drops and bumps. So why did we not give it a 5 star?
First of all we could not get one corner of the Pelican ProGear Vault Extreme Protection Case to seal entirely against the iPad Mini. We clicked the edges, we tested to make sure we pushed all the hinges, we clicked again and still it would slowly rise up slightly. This concerned us for dust and water prevention (yes we know it is not meant to be submerged).
Getting the iPad Mini into the Pelican ProGear Vault Extreme Protection Case frame by removing 6 screws did not take long and they provide the wrench needed for the hex bolts. We tested port access and did find that the power button was hard to push and know if you had turned it on. The cover is not magnetic that we could verify so make sure you have it set to power off after a while if you are used to just closing the lid on your cover. The volume button was easy to push and the home button did not give a lot of feedback but you could easily tell by what was happening on the iPad Mini screen. The power charging and sync port was easily opened on the bottom and provided plenty of room for the lightening connector.
See the video for more on the Pelican ProGear Vault Extreme Protection Case but overall somewhere close to a 4 star if they could just get that corner right.
