IBM released the IBM Notes Extended Search Plugin for IBM Notes 9 which mimics what FewClix does (without the better ui) for searching archives and email.
The plugin has a basic and advanced search mode. Including the ability to add multiple conditions for further improve your search results. The plugin uses the standard IBM Notes Search engine, where FewClix built it's own index locally. Here are the key features per the website

It is not freely distributed and can only be found with your local ISSC representative. IBM considers this an asset and does not release it as a product included with IBM Notes 9. I would hope, and think, that IBM will release this freely via OpenNTF or other means.
- Can search only for mail (agenda entries are excluded)
- Available from any view or folder where emails are displayed
- Results are displayed in a new tab
- Two kinds of search : simple and advanced
- Search target can be specified : only in the current mail file and/or all archives
- Local and archive mail files are full text indexed automatically
- Friendly user interface
- Precise searches are very easy
