IBM has released what's new for IBM Connections Cloud for June 2017. Here is some of the updates
Verse |
Verse: Preview attachments while composing a message When you compose an email message, you need to be able to preview an attachment while in Draft mode so that you're confident you're sending the correct information. Now you can! Click the attachment to preview it in the Verse window. Click X to close it and return to composing your message.
Verse: Replied to and forwarded icons on messages Now you have a clear and simple way for seeing which messages in the message list have been replied to (left arrow icon) and which messages have been forwarded (right arrow icon).
Verse for iOS 9.4: Performance, scalability, and security enhancements Verse mobile for iOS just got better with enhancements to performance, scalability, and ease of use. This release contains general performance improvements for Inbox, Calendar, and Contacts views. Ease of use and scalability enhancements include: - Notifications are now triggered on every mail
- Option to sync all mail
- Streamlined calendar interface
- Sort contacts by first or last name
- Tap to Facetime or tap to text from a contact record
- Landscape view on iPhone
- Integration with the IBM Connections mobile app when clicking on links
- AppConfig standards based MDM support
One change to the way notifications works in Verse iOS 9.4 is the scope of notifications that you receive. Prior to version 9.4 you only received notifications from contacts who were explicitly added to your "Important to Me" list in the People tab. Starting with version 9.4, you'll receive notifications for all emails and calendar invitations that are sent to you. We made this change to be more consistent with the behavior of the Verse app in on-premise environments as well as to be consistent with other mail apps in the market. We intend to add the ability for you to revert to the previous behavior through a setting at a later point in time. Verse for Android: Certificate-based authentication Certificate-based authentication provides an easier and more secure login mechanism by allowing clients to authenticate with a certificate instead of a password. Verse for Android now supports three authentication options: - Traditional username/password
- Certificate-only authentication
- Certificate and username/password
Note: Certificate-based authentication is available only for on-premises customers. Administrators must generate and distribute client certificates for each user. | |

Connections: Navigation bar responds to your window Connections Cloud features a responsive navigation bar, which means the list of applications displayed will adjust to the width of your window. As you reduce the width of your window, applications that no longer fit on screen move to the More menu. As you enlarge your window, more applications become visible. If your window is very narrow, and no applications fit, they are all listed under one Apps menu. Note that clicking an application in the navigation bar opens that app's page. Views can be selected from there, within the application.
Connections: Sync folders and files to your desktop Files introduces My Drive, a repository where you can organize files and folders, whether you created them or they were shared with you. File or folders you add and edit in My Drive are automatically synchronized to your desktop so you always have the latest version of the content. Syncing is a way to automatically replicate changes to your content, whether you created it or whether it was shared with you, even when multiple people are acting on the content. You can access the files from your local desktop, or from another device, and feel confident that you always have the latest version.
To use My Drive, your organization must support sync. Windows users must install IBM Connections Desktop Plug-ins for Microsoft Windows. Mac users must install IBM Connections for Mac. Both are available here.
Connections: Save time by copying a community When you want to create a new community, it's easier to copy an existing community rather than creating one from scratch. Copy a community to create a community with the same layout and structure as the existing community. When you copy a community, you get the title and description, access settings, and apps. What isn't copied are community members, files, app content, and images.
Connections: More options for designing a Community home page Now you can design modern communities with new top navigation, new layouts, and defined app styles.
Connections: Get started fast with guided tours New guided tours provide first time users and experiences users alike with a quick view of main features and actions on the Home Page, Communities, and Files. If you cancel out of a tour, you need to clear your browser cache of cookies to have them run again. The new tours replace the "Welcome Boxes". The Home Page guided tour starts automatically the first time you log on. Similarly, guided tours start automatically when you open Files or Communities pages. |
