Gist plugin for Lotus Notes successful - thoughts before screencast
Tags :plugins Gist
I have been a user of Gist for some time. Here is a screencast of their web feature and interface before we talk Lotus. Disclosure:
I have no other disclosure to make around that. I am not an advisor to them, not a stakeholder or have not been paid.
Now that we have that out of the way. Gist gets contact meta management! This is something the Notes Personal Address Book (PNAB or names.nsf) should have been doing long ago. Even the new OpenNTF initiative doesn't address some of this (yet as I have read their futures before writing this). Gist understands how important linking together all your contact information is with the public side, corporate information and more.
There are still some small UI pieces to work out, but that all comes in time for a product that was in the social world and has created one mean plug-in for Lotus.
Many of you will not be able to simply drag-and-drop the plug-in. Administrative controls shouldn't allow this. Gist will have to come up with deployment variations to account for everyone that has proper security here. But that is for another talk.
