BlackBerry, Smart Tags and BlackBerry AppWorld

Yes BlackBerry you have done something dumb again, this time with Smart Tags and BlackBerry (AppWorld) World. It all started when I found a cool app I wanted to load.
It all started when I wanted to try out BlackBerry Express. An awesome new presentation creation tool for the BlackBerry devices. The article took me to BlackBerry World which had the QR code on the page. From here the experience sucked.
I opened BlackBerry World on my BlackBerry Z10 device and looked for the simple way to scan a QR code and add the app. It is nowhere to be found. They encourage you to scan QR codes to load apps yet did not give that ability inside of BlackBerry World itself?
So I pondered what app I saw that was preloaded that scanned codes. I was blank. I kept looking for a QR code reader. Eventually I saw Smart Tags and opened that app. It will scan any barcode, QR code or similar. Did it natively open BlackBerry World for me and take me right to the app I want to load? No,. of course not. It made what looks like a bookmark to the app and leaves you sitting there. You have to click it,.
Once inside BlackBerry World I was presented with the application (finally) only to be told I could not load it. Apparently they decided it would only work on BlackBerry 10.2 which not many carriers have rolled out. Great press, roll out a great app that is hard to get to and isn't available.
Go join my IdoNotes Network Facebook page or YouTube channels, I am trying to grow those too :-)
