Messaging Pipeline: Radicati Group Calls LCS 2005 "Bold Step Forward"

Chris writes a lot about instant messaging,
so this seemed like a good article to highlight.
LCS = Microsoft Live Communications
Server. The 2005 version is supposed to ship later this year; yet
this article seems to indicate that the particular report is written in
present tense. The article covers other interesting analysis by Radicati
Group :Radicati
Group expects Microsoft to make serious inroads into the enterprise IM
market with this important addition to LCS 2005. To date, LCS has garnered
about 18% of the market, according to Radicati's analysis. "We expect
that this connectivity, once in place, will help to strongly position LCS
as a market leader in enterprise IM, and will increase its market share
significantly," the report says, explaining that no one else can provide
this type of connectivity.
Are you running LCS? I
find the 18% number pretty surprising, but maybe Carl
has seen that level of activity.
