Confusion over running QP 6.5.1 and Sametime 6.5.1 on the same box?

If we reference technote #1084238 it says
you cannot run both together on the same Windows box.
For Windows servers,
installing Lotus Instant Messaging and Web Conferencing (Sametime) 6.5.1
and Lotus Team Workplace (Quickplace) 6.5.1 on the same server is not a
supported configuration. A Domino server limitation prevents all Java class
files required by both of these servers from loading when both Sametime
and QuickPlace are installed on the same machine
But then you can run them both in the same
environment, just different servers. Yes we quote again from the same technote:
Quickplace 6.5.1 can
run with the following versions of the Sametime server:
3.0 (until the server can be upgraded
to the preferred 3.1 version)
3.1
6.5.1 *
* If you are going to run Quickplace
6.5.1 and Sametime 6.5.1 in the same environment (not on the same server,
however), you should upgrade your Quickplace server to 6.5.1 prior to upgrading
your Sametime server to 6.5.1.
