IdoNotes (and sleep)

Since this is the first year, we built checkpoints for all of the main areas around Lotusphere.  If something is missing I apologize and might be able to get one or two more done, if the need is there.  But here is the list:
  • BigRiverGrille
  • DolphinBar
  • DolphinDining
  • DolphinHemispheres
  • DolphinRotunda
  • ESPNOrlando
  • FlyingFishCafe
  • JellyRollsDisney
  • LSVendorFloor
  • Spoodles
  • SwanEntrance
  • SwanKimonos
  • Y&BConferenceCenter
  • Y&BLobby

I tried to keep them all as one word for consistency.  I am working with Lotus to get signs placed around Lotusphere, but I bet the bars/restaurants will be off limits for signage.

Look for a bunch of commands you can use in the next posting.  Such as the ability to look someone up and get their last location they checked in

Good job! You might want to also add the Atlantic Dance Hall since that's where JAMFest will be.

Great effort, Chris - this will be so useful at Lotusphere.

I assume the JelyRollsDisney is a typo in your post?

@Karl-Henry I am taking suggestions for adding some more but did not want to overwhelm this first year.

Chris, assume that using the BrightKite iphone app we'll just be able to check-in at these spots (which I think we can 'Placemark') as we normally would, and not have to so either the SMS or the email route of checking in, but still be able to find/connect with others that have used the other mechanisms?

@Phil - yes those are public placemarks so you can check-in from the iphone app just as easy. Or even the web interface which I am posting on later

Is it possible to get public placemarks listed together with my own placemarks?

When I use the web interface, I can see my own placemarks, and easily check-in to one of those by just clicking on one. But I would like to be able to have a list of all public placemarks associated with Lotusphere righ there, making it easy to just go to the site and click a link, not having to memorize the codes.

Perhaps that is what you will do on the website when it comes up, though? Any support for the GPS in Blackberry Bold, so I just click one "locate me" button and get checked-in? :-)

Not to be difficult, but wouldn't DolphinLobby or DolphinFountain be popular choices?

    DolphinRotund above, is actually DolphinRotunda

@Alan - I went with names you would find online at Disney, plus we should have signs to identify the checkpoint. Good point but since it is known by so many names and the lobby to me is the main doors. no?

Just seems inconsistent to me. Swan is listed as entrance, Dolphin as Rotunda. Is entrance the reception area, or the entrance on the Dolphin side? Is the Rotunda the fountain? etc.

@Alan- I see your point. The Swan though is the outside entrance you get to from the long walkway, a common meeting point, even for the Sun night party. The Dolphin Rotunda is where they put the fountain and the rotunda. The website for Disney called it that so I went with it. Sorry for the confusion.

Character Bio:

This will take far more time than I have today. I will start with I was born and still live in St. Louis, MO. Even though for a couple years I was never, ever here and always on the road, this is smack in the middle of the US. Everything is just a few hour flight. That part is nice. No beach/ocean/coast isn't the best. But with the travel I make up for it.

Don't Panic

Looking to find me in person? Here is where I am and will be.
